BioProtection Global welcomed 2020, the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH) and the new decade (a definite one to achieve the Paris Climate Agreement) with a reinforced commitment to positively impact and transform global agrifood and “agrigood” systems. Despite the tough challenges we face as human kind, we are optimistic about transformational change the bioprotection industry can deliver if we can accelerate the adoption of readily available bioprotection solutions and coming bioinnovations to protect plants, crops and people while nurturing planet Earth. The bioprotection industry has a key role to play as a relevant contributor to the production of safe, nutritious, and sufficient food for all; and through not only more sustainable but regenerative communities, societies, landscapes, markets, agricultural systems, and international trade.
BioProtection Global is a member-based federation currently comprised of 9 regional and national associations of bioprotection, biocontrol, or bio-based products developers and manufacturers, representing through our member associations close to 800 entities in 56 countries around the world, which roughly may comprise from 60 to 70% of the global bioprotection industry. We strive to be a unified voice for the global bioprotection industry and to enhance the harmonization of proportionate regulatory frameworks and synergistic partnerships to accelerate the adoption of bioprotection solutions as a key pillars for the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
